Berries

My 3 yr. old calicarpa (beauty berry ) south facing
full sun exposure doesn't do well with producing berries.
In the spring they appear to set but during the course of
the summer they dry and shrivel up and drop off.
Does it need something in the soil?

I'm not sure it's the berries that are dropping off. Callicarpa flowers, carried in summer, are the same colour as the later berries and I suspect it is these that are falling. Callicarpas fruit better if there is more than one shrub so this may be the problem. Either you, or a neighbour, could plant another one and you should hopefully get a good crop of berries
