I note you're in a cold part of the country - if the plant was in a pot, or in an unsheltered situation, it might have died, but give it some time yet. Obviously this should be an evergreen, but even some privets have dropped their leaves during this last severe winter, so it doesn't necessarily mean its dead. Wait till May before deciding its a goner, specially if its in the ground in a suitable situation for it.
