i have outdoor ivy (approx 15 years old) always looked strong and healthy but after being covered by over 12" snow in nov/dec looks dead, Leaves brown and brittle. is there any hope as only a few green leaves left and no sign of new growth?

I always thought ivy was as hard as nails. Surely it will recover? Give it a bit of time as Seaburngirl says.

The ivy on my front wall often dies off a bit in the winter, but it always seems to spring back, so good luck with yours.

there is always hope. cut of the dead stuff and leave it and see if it regrows. i'd wait until june before digging it out.
