SWEETCORN

Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom Gb

I'm getting very worried that my sweetcorn isn't going to ripen soon... I've grown them in the garden for the first time and the cobs are doing well, but although the tassles have turned brown the corn is still very small and nowhere near ready, is there any way of ripening the cobs if I pick them early? or do I just have to leave them and hope the sun comes out? I'm concerned that the season is coming to the end and that if there is any frost I will lose all the plants. Any advice much appreciated, many thanx Lucy :-)

Hello.
I tried a very small number of corn plants for 1st time this year, but they've done badly, and I wonder if it's just due to the rubbish weather we've had? I think they'd prefer much more sun.

How do I say thanks?
