Ants usually climb up plants to 'milk' the aphids that are feeding on the sap of the plant. So, the secret is to get rid of the aphids (woolly ones, in your case). If you are not organic you can use a proprietry insecticide. Check at your local garden centre or try spraying with soft soap solution.
