We have just felled and burnt a number of large pine trees on our garden boundary. Can I use the ash on my vegetable garden or will it make rhe soild acid?

I can't see any reason not to use on veggie garden.

Do keep an eye on the pH, however. Wood ash is quite alkaline, and may temporarily raise the pH too high.

Shouldn't think so, the resin will have burnt off anyway - fresh clippings might increase the acidity, the ashes shouldn't.
