Please could you tell me why a white foam has developed in out compost. It is spongy and has appeared overnight. Is it still alright to carry on using the compost container with our peelings etc or should we stop. Please can you help.

Have you put something quite acidic in like citrus peel, grapefruit pith or peel, that could create a foam if it reacts with whatever is below.
