MyBuddleia Buzz collection arrived today :) They're a bit smalled than I expected - jumbo plugs!
What size pots do you think I should plant them in? I intend to keep one and give the other two away for Xmas presents. I'll probably keep them inside in the conservatory or on the shed windowsill in the meatime in case the frost gets them. I think they should only grow to 1m, but I don't think I'll put them in to great big tubs yet....
Will normal multi-purpose be ok?

I'd pot them up in a size of pot about half an inch bigger max. (all round) than the size of the root balls. They need room to grow, but not to get swamped. You can always pot them up a size if necessary.

Yes, I'd use multi-purpose at the moment. They'll be fine in that over the winter.

Remember to plant the plugs so that original soil line of the plug is level with the or slightly below the compost.

so no desperate rush to get to the garden centre then :) got lots of little pots at home!

There you go...

Yes, as Spritzhenry says, just a suitable sized pot. Plants don't like to sit in a lot of cold wet compost over winter. They also take up less room that way.

How true! Last year I treated myself to a tray with 18 square pots in it. It's wonderful. I also have similar round sets, so all I have to do is pick the whole thing up to move it around, rather than individual pots.

I recieved mine recently, too. I didn't get the ivory one, but they did substitute that with sky blue. As the instructions said,I potted mine in 3.5 in pots in multi purpose

I wanted the ivory one too! So now I don't know which one to keep, probably the magenta although out of the 3, the sky blue is the bigger plant at the moment.
We'll see what they're like at Xmas.
I was impressed with the £5 voucher for the inconvenience of not getting the ivory one:)

Is that bad Spritz? Are they rubbish?

So many members have had problems with them, Donna - plants dead or dying on arrival, much smaller than expected but at inflated prices, the wrong items, delayed delivery, not a lot of help from Customer Services, you name it.

I do object to the policy of selling tiny plugs at the same price as a mature plant. I think that's the worst, really, when the catalogue shows them as mature.

I gave up on T&M a few years back - I hardly ever get anything from them now, unless it's not available elsewhere. Even then, this year I got the wrong plants, and too late! Grrrrrr.......

Sorry to say Donna I agree with all that Spritz has said
I ordered the same last year and they took months to arrive and when they did they were so small I complained. Weeks later I had replacements and they were just as small. ! GRRRRRRR !

Even their seeds aren't as good as other suppliers, I've found.

Oh well, I'll know in future!
Their plugs do seem small which I did think was a bit of a let down, I was at least expecting kind of 'garden centre' size shrubs!
Can just wait and see I suppose, thanks for the advice though!

I'm just sorry you got 'hooked' by their advertising. I hope your Buddleias thrive for you.

Light at the end of the tunnel Donna, they took a while to get going but once they did they were lovely.

How do I say thanks?
