Some sort of leaf miner, or as suggested, caterpillars browsing the green bits & leaving the skeletons

Thank you both. Will have a closer look at leaves to find the culprit.

There appears to be a green caterpillar in the first photo. Something is definitely browsing over the leaves, so not rust.
