Another lawn problem as well as the chickweed ! Another joy of a new garden so any advice much appreciated
It seems to make a sort of mat with tendrils and tiny yellow flowers. Do I need to get rid of it and if so how ?

looks like black medic or any of the small yellow clovers. Good for insects.
It will persist and the best way of getting rid if you really want to is a feed and weed type grass product.
