I'll be amazed if anyone is able to ID these tiny pink flowers, just appeared in my 'wild' unmown patch. I could try and get closer if that would help? Thanks!

I've got down low and taken a close-up, which looks a little bigger in the photo than in life.

have a look at chaff weed: Anagalis minima. It reminds me of that but if you could try and get a picture of the flower and its leaves that would be brilliant.

That’s amazing Eileen. The leaves do look the same (some can be seen in the second pic). Thank you! Your knowledge is unsurpassed … we are lucky to have you on this site 🙂.

its related to scarlet pimpernel and likes dampish conditions. I love wild flowers and am acquainted with Alastair Fitter, who, with his father Richard Fitter wrote the Collins guide to flowers of Britain and Ireland back in the 70's. I have spent many a happy hour in Alastair's company looking at the wildflowers in his garden meadow.

It just shows what can happen when we don’t mow. I didn’t sow these but they just appeared … thanks again 🙂.

That is an unusual one that has appeared. I’ve never seen it before, so looked it up ( in my Collins).

Interesting! I've never seen it either.

You can have a laugh at me now. I eventually realised they these were the tiny flowers of the tree Cercis canadensis Forest Pansy dropping to the rough grass below. Mea Culpa!
