Can anyone identify this houseplant for me please

I couldn't tell you the particular variety, but it looks a lot like a dendrobium orchid that I used to have.

Mine was in flower when I was given it (yours looks like it's just finished), but never flowered again. It produced loads of keikis, which I tried to bring on as new plants, but whatever I did with them (different temperature / light / watering / etc.) I was never successful.

Yes, it is one of the orchids. Even after flowering (like this one), repot into a clear (see through) plastic pot - next size up - and fill the pot with bark (you can buy this at your local garden centre). I water when I can see the moisture on the clear pot diminishing - using warm water and also give leaves and bark a spray of orchid feed. Next year it will flower again for you. Also, they don't like direct sun, so just keep in a warm light position.
