Good afternoon...On my way to the shops on a busy road I pass a house that has three small trees in the front garden. They are such a pretty apricot colour, always best in the Spring. Unfortunately I cannot photograph them. But I really would like to buy one for my daughters special birthday. So here's the thing I would hazard a guess they are either an Acer or Maple would anyone
perhaps know the name ??

Thanks for the info, I did look at the link and it certainly looks the part. But the RHS describes this a shrub but the ones I have seen are definitely small trees ??

3 metres is a tall shrub, which is what they grow to.
Will keep looking.

You are kind. I might try and get a photograph, that would help with identifying it. Thanks again

The only other orange leafed Acer is very rare and very very expensive. Westonbirt Orange.
Cannot find any other trees which are orange leafed now, sorry.

our neighbour down the street has a type of maple/sycamore that is peachy at this time of year, but I have no idea what it is. Its not a Japanese one. They have no idea what it is either.

Hi again I risked life and limb today to get photo's are they any help in identifying the tree. They are not as peachy looking as they were two weeks ago...get the feeling they might turn green. I might have a problem adding photo's lets see.

Well, definitely an Acer of some description.
Try Acer platanoides Princeton Gold.

this is just like the one in my street except it is variegated too.

Had a look at Princeton Gold, and If that's not the one I don't think I will get any closer, except maybe Orange Dream.
You have been so kind taking the trouble to help me, Im sure I will be back with more questions as I am always learning. THANK YOU x

Have a look at acer pseudoplatanus 'Brilliantissimum' and see how that compares.

Do you know that is so spooky. I was looking thru my RHS book, just today, for another shrub when I came across Brilliantissmum.
I thought there you are my beauty. Thanks for the kind attention...satisfaction all round xx
