Hi - As I didn't know the answer, I Googled Chinese Onions - got loads of recipes! When I tried 'planting chinese onions' I got one useful reference: http://www.e2121.com/food_db/viewherb.php3?viewid=41 some of which I would take with the proverbial pinch of salt! It seems you can plant them almost any time but I assume (early) spring would be best for June/July harvest .. Hope this helps a little
