My skimmia J aponica Rubella is potbound and the leaves are yellow and blotchy. Wat soil should I use for new pot and how larger that the present on should be the next pot? Many thanks in advance. MGG

You could also water it with sequestrene which will help to 'green' up the leaves.

A pot that's big enough to give an inch all round and beneath the current root ball as a minimum. Use ericaceous compost, gently rake out (with your fingers) the rootball to untwine the roots before placing in new pot.
