These little orange things are lying on the soil, all around my Gertrude Jekyll climbing rose. Please can anyone advise if I should do anything about them? Thank you.

it looks like slow release fertilizer granules.s it would be better raked in to the surface.

Thanks Seaburn. If it’s granules, would they have lasted all through the winter in their present form?

Yes, they may not contain any food any more, but the clay outer casing is very persistent.
