Bent fern fronds

Hi!

My tree fern is sprouting loads of new fronds this year (yay!) but they’re not standing tall like they would usually, in fact some are even bent down.
It had a tough time last year following the previous years heat wave but after a decent amount of water last year I thought it would recover? It’s roughly 5.5 foot tall and a couple of years ago would produce leaves/fronds around 2m long often slightly longer. Do I have anything to worry about?

Hello, I wondered if you hadn’t trimmed/pruned back the old fern fronds short enough? I usually do my tree ferns in April, taking the fronds right back to almost a couple of inches, making sure I don’t damage the new unfurled fronds. Maybe there has been some impact from the old frond ‘sticks’ as the new fronds unfurl?
Maybe some frost damage?
Sorry I’m not much help. Hopefully someone more experienced will help.

Oh that’s a good point! I’ll give them a trim back and see what happens. Thank you!
