I take seeds each year and pot them up and water when I think about it! They thrived on neglect last year and more than three quarters got through the winter. I have potted them on again this spring and will do the same again and plant them out next year. I haven't tried to keep them in pots any longer than that.

I don't tend to specifically water them but they are out doors and if it rains they get wet.
