Anyone recognise this plant? Very sweet scent, a hedge in a front garden.

Hi, I want to say that this is a berberis but I'm not 100% sure.

It is Berberis Darwinii. It is a native of Chile and Argentina. It will have black berries in the autumn. The birds love them and drop them around the garden and you may be lucky enough to have some new young plants next year. It is easy to prune to fit the space you have. I do it after the flowers fade.

Thank you all! Sorry I didn’t reply sooner,! Now garden centre is open again I’ll be on the lookout - If the birds like the berries it’s good enough for me and I just love that scent!
