Although I have turned my pics the right way up, when I put them in a blog they are back on their side, hope this makes sense lol. How can I sort this?

when you rotated them did you re save them under another name. sometimes they don't save rotated for me unless I do that.

worth giving it a go I guess.

Thanks Sbg, I'll give it a try:-)

Seaburn's right, the rotation info needs to be embedded in the file that you transfer for websites, etc. to make sense of them. You don't need to completely change the file name just add a letter or number to make it unique

Ooh think I can manage that if I can find out how to do it, can't find out how to save them on my new laptop. Will persevere, thanks:-)

It depends on what operating system you have, but there should be a file folder in the bar at the bottom, or Photos in the Start section. Click on a photo and up at the top right is Edit & Create. When you finish rotating them, at the bottom right is Save a Copy and a downward arrow. If you click on the arrow, the photo is replaced with what you just did. Save a Copy gives you the old photo and a copy with the changes.

Thanks for trying, there is no 'save' to click on I'm afraid, it's driven me up the wall:-) just took more pics the right way up!:-]

when you upload the photos from your camera to your computer rotate them on your computer. I use photoshop then you should get a save function and I usually type in the plant name. then upload to GoY from your pictures folder.

I just take the card out of my camera stick it in the laptopand they always go to the same place. It's very quick. I could do everything on my old computer, but not my new laptop. Will get a child to help me lol:-)

just had a go with a photo from an email and one from my camera card.
when I have resized it I then go to the close x button top right. it then asks me if I want to save. I say yes then it allows me to chose the folder and give it a new name.

yes a young person will do it in a jiffy.

No idea how to resize Sg lol:-)

You can do a search: resize (operating system) and if you are lucky there will be step by step instructions.
I have Windows 10, and when I open a picture or photo, in the upper right corner are the options, Edit & Create, Share, a printer, and 3 dots.
Click on the dots and the 3rd option there is resize.
Then there are 4 more options for size.
You have to pick where to save it to or else it goes to the default option. To be safe, I add an r at the end of the name until I see if it is a good resize, and go back and delete the one I don't want.
I have done a lot of searches beginning with "How do I …" and have to add W10 because much of the advice is for W7 or W8.

Thanks Wylie, I have windows 10, but the nice young man who set up my laptop and when I open 'pictures' there are no dots lol. I'm scared to alter anything in case I mess it up, Will just have to take everything the right way up lol:-)

There are no dots when you open an individual photo? When you open pictures or a file/folder, there won't be any. But for an individual photo there should be some options at the top. There should also be similar options when you first download photos.

Faststone Image Viewer is easy to use on Windows 10.

https://faststone-image-viewer.en.softwarewindows.com/

I use it all the time as a good, basic photo viewer but you can rotate, crop & save with it as easily as using a word processor.
It's completely free too...
