Good afternoon.....I wonder if there is any one who can give me advice on lawn repair. We have a large lawn area and in January 2018 my husband must have walked on the lawn when it was covered in frost. By the spring of same year after the lawns were cut we noticed that footprints were quite visible in the grass. He treated it as usual with weed and feed and seeded the dead areas. Now we have reached Spring 2019 and still the footprints are visible...what is the answer to this problem. Our lawns are always looked after with care and patience but these "Footprints" really are disfiguring. I have tried to show in the photo's attached. Any advice / help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Cazoo

Hi, first of all, walking on the grass while frosted shouldn't do this damage, I would think that there's a problem with the soil, or something in the soil, try cutting a square section out and replace about 6" of soil, firm it at the same level as the rest of the lawn, and reseed, Derek.

Pretty obviously actual foot prints, though, which is weird. Did he maybe walk through a puddle of chlorinated floor cleaner or spilled bleach before walking on the lawn, Cazoo? The rest of the lawn doesn't look too happy, anyway. What kind of grass is it, and what kind of food are you giving it?

Bleach / Chlorinated water ?? As we have nearly 3/4 of an acre of lawns maybe my photo's do not do them justice....as my husband spends a lot of time cutting and feeding. I went to another blog and got some constructive advice and they seem to think its Fusarium or Snow Mould....we also now know how to treat it. But over 3/4 of an acre its going to take time.
Thanks for your interest though.

Sorry, Cazoo. What I saw on the photo looked like about 60% green and 40% straw, but that was apparently an illusion. I agree, though: 3/4 of an acre is a job and a half! Best wishes!

How do I say thanks?
