Hi, I had a gorgeous Poinsetta given me at Christmas, which has kept going right up to now; (2nd may 2019) but now it has dark edges to the blossooms, which are daily falling. So its too sad any more to keep in the living room. But the leaves are perfectly OK, so what should I do with it now? Can I preserve it for another year...please help. Rene.

Making them go red again is a long arduous process. Most people just discard and buy new ones.

Seems shame to chuck it out, you could always have a go at keeping it. Check here. Nothing except time to lose!

I have done this before more as an interest thing and it was appropriate to what I was teaching at the time. to be honest I don't bother anymore. As one wrong bit of light undoes all the weeks of work of covering un covering etc.

I did it once out of interest Sbg, I achieved the red flowers but they were all small, not large & showy as when shop bought. I agree it's best to buy fresh, but an interesting experiment. I put mine in a dark cupboard & then forgot about it for a few days!
