I have a large lawn which is more meadow like than lawn like, I have a newish mountfield rotary petrol mower which came with the garden, which has a pull cord starter. I have had no end of problems with it as after using it a couple of times the cord just jams and I cant pull it at all, Ive had it serviced and it was fine immediately afterwards, the first time I used it after the service on the 3rd time of stopping the mower to empty the grass box it just wouldnt start again, the cord pulled twice without firing up, retracted and jammed solid. Is it me or the mower thats at fault? I have never used a petrol mower before.

Not sure, my father in law had a sit and ride petrol mower, I've got no experience if its a push along rather than sit and ride. He had very little trouble with his.
