Euonymus fortunii, probably Emerald'n gold. Sorry don't know what the plain green one is (its not part of the other one)

If the green leaves are actually attached to the same shrub, and the shrub is a lot taller than a couple of feet, its more likely to be Euonymus japonicus aureomarginatus, which does sometimes throw out all green or all yellow leaves.

Thanks to you both. Yes, one part of the plant has green leaves whereas the other part of the same plant has green/yellow leaves. It's about 6 foot tall.

If all the green leaves are branching off a single branch, cut that branch out - if its branching from a main branch with both variegated and plain green leaves on it, leave it in situ...

Six feet tall? goodness, how wrong can you get, lol. It must be quite old as they can be pretty slow growing.

Oh I don't know, Steragram- E. japonicus isn't particularly a slow grower. We have loads of those here in the gardens (far too many in fact) and one planted around 3/4 years ago is already 4 feet tall.

I wonder if mine is mislabelled then. it was a cutting from a friend when hers was about three feet in the 1990s and now its about 6 feet.

Well that's very odd Steragram - one I planted in someone's garden probably 10 years ago (maybe 8) is now about 9 feet by 5 feet - and only because I hack it back every year with the hedgetrimmer, lord knows how big it would be if I didn't.

Mine must be something else then.

I have several euonymus, some large, some small. I think it depends how much sun they get.
The all green bit has reverted and should be cut out if possible. These plants are really tough and can stand any amount of hacking back.

How do I say thanks?
