Could you name this Fuchsia please. A lovely neighbour gave it to me last year and it has flowered non stop this summer. Gorgeous yellow inside.

Could it be Phygelius Homebird sometimes called the Cape Fuchsia? It's not like any Fuchsia I've ever seen. Very pretty.

Definitely a Phygelius.

Yes it's Phygelius, not a 'proper' Fuchsia at all although it's common name is 'Cape Fuchsia' and also 'Cape Figwort'
It belongs to the family Scrophulariaceae
Fuchsias belong to the Onagraceae, same as the Evening Primrose and Willowherb

Thanks very much for your help. I have Phygelius 'Yellow Trumpet' in the garden but it's short and more plant like. Whereas this one is shrub like, like my hardy Fuchsias and about 3ft tall. That's why I thought it was one. ;o)

Some phygelius can get really big and bushy. I had to get rid of mine as it got much too big for the spot where I wanted it.

I will have to watch this one then to make sure it doesn't get out of hand. It is very pretty though. :o)
