I know this year has been incredibly hot but I have nurtured and watered and fed my runner beans and 2 days ago they were all in flower, now the flowers have gone and just stalks are remaining. Has anyone else had this problem this year and can anyone suggest a remedy?

Also I don't add extra feed once they are planted as too much food leads to leaf growth instead of flowers.

in the evening spray the flowers with a fine mist of water , this is supposed to help. keep well watered as if they lose a steady water supply the immature beans get aborted and they drop off.
I grow mine in large pots and they have been standing in shallow trays of water that I refill every night.
