I have a Camilla which is looking rather sick. It is in a tub approximately 2ft high and has done well for a number of years but this year many of the leaves are yellowish and the blooms are floppy and often don't open at all.

Maybe it's time to repot with new compost.

Unfortunately, large shrubs in pots eventually run out of root room, meaning the upper parts of the plant start to look poorly... sounds like the Camellia's been in the same pot for quite a while, so its possible its reached that point.

Oh dear, I did wonder if that was the problem, Bamboo.

You could scrape the top 2" of compost off and then add fresh ericaceous compost with a suitable feed for them. obviously water well.

I'll try that SBG, thanks. ..I don't want to get rid of it unless I have to.
