Can peonies that have sprouted to 6 inches high survive below freezing temps?

Mine have done in the past but how much below freezing? mine came through a -2 centigrade [28F] frost.

Maybe, maybe not - under a blanket of snow more likely to, but even if they don't, they should put out new shoots a bit later, so don't worry about it.
