A potted laurus nobilis or bay tree. Would it be best to stand it in shade or sun, please? Will it be happy in a pot for a few ears? It is 30" tall.

Sun, especially during winter, and preferably out of cold winds if at all possible. It'll be okay in a pot for a couple of years, but you might need to pot on into something bigger periodically
