Not so much climbing roses, they don't do too well in pots. Clematis yes, as long as you choose the large flowered hybrids and not the species, so not montana, etc. Remember the pots need to be shaded for clematis, they like their roots cool, and will need 2 feet deep, so stand other pots round them to create shade. Otherwise, shrubs like Camellia, Pieris, Skimmia (acid soil for all these, so ericaceous compost, and a bit of shade) Euonymus, Fatsia japonica, and most smaller shrubs (under 4/5 feet) will be fine in pots. Exception is fuchsia, they can be sensitive to frost through their roots when kept in pots.
