why are my pears all cracked and dry on my tree.

A photo of the fruit would be very useful - might be Stony Pit Virus or boron deficiency, but hard to say without seeing the fruit. Any symptoms on the rest of the tree (leaves,stems, branches, trunk)? Is it an old pear tree? Are all the fruits affected?
