Something is attacking the roots of my newly planted lettuces. I presume it is some sort of grub in the soil. What can I do to to get rid of the grubs?

Presumption is not confirmation. The only way you would know the roots were being attacked is that you lifted the plant out to see. Did you see any grubs?
