my virgina creeper was growing fast and healthiy but two days ago it has gone all limp and damp, what is the problem? but everything else in my garden is growing fine

More information and a photo might be useful, but assuming your plant is in the ground and not in a pot, the most likely explanation is the vagaries of the weather - a long spell of ridiculously balmy temperatures from end of March through to about a week or so ago, when the temperature plunged by 10 or 15 degrees and we got frosts at night. Its likely the frost has destroyed the new growth, especially if it looks 'wet', or soggy, but more new growth will appear as the weather improves.
