I saw another plant today that I don't recognise. It was fairly open in habit and looked a bit like a young magnolia (was about 3-5 feet) but then I saw the amazingly long thorns on it. Any ideas?

I wish I can see the flowers up close, but it could be Crataegus Monogyna (Common Hawthorn)
