they are thirsty plants but watering will depend on weather conditions. check the surface of the compost daily and water if the top 1" of the soil feels dry. on windy days they will need even more.

When you water, water very thoroughly: you soak the soil to saturation, the excess drains out the drain hole, so there is a mixture of water and air in the soil (called "field capacity") and the water evaporates, both through the plant and from the soil surface, until it is clinging too hard to the soil particles for the plant's roots to pull it off, then you water again.
