Can't help much except to say that our local nurseryman told me that the green ones are the hardiest and that none of them are very good in a windy spot. I have seen the red ones doing well in sheltered spots but this is in West Wales - you don't say where you live. I'd advise you to ask at a local nursery where they will know what does well in your area, not a garden centre where the staff don 't always know very much abut what they are selling.
