If it is flea beetles, you will see pinhead-sized metallic black, dark blue, or dark green beetles jumping around the plants. It might also be loopers of some kind, which are little green worms that only come out at night. Or it might be leaf miners, in which case, the first symptoms will have been translucent scribble mark on the leaves, which eventually merge into dead spots that pierce through.
