Would any member have a answer of how to get rid of black ants off my Strawberry plants. I have straw around the base of them, would that encourage them to nest there. I would be most grateful for a solution.

You could sprinkle ant powder under the straw. That way the ants will get it but the fruits will be safe.

That is a very good suggestion, I will try that.

Citrus peels work too if you want to go organic - orange, lemons, limes. Dice them up, sprinkle around your strawberry plants.

That sounds great. Thank you Bathgate.

I tried orange peel once and found it smothered in ants. British ones clearly like it!

How do I say thanks?
