I planted a cotinus 3 or 4 years ago, and it thrived. This year, it produced flower buds as usual but did not flower, and, subsequently nothing has happened: it has not grown, not produced new shoots, and the leaves are about half the size they were last year. What can I do, please?

I don't know where you live in the UK, so its hard to comment, but if you're anywhere in the South, it'll be drought that's caused this lack of growth.
