Can I plant last years shallots which I didn't use, and do I need to split the double ones?

Thanks a lot for that Flag, I'll try this year, the shallots are green in the centre so they are going to sprout so it's worth a try. Later in the year I'll let you know how it went.

if they are still firm and not shrivelled then yes you can. yes you can also split the doubles.
but after a year I 'd surprised if they were fit for purpose.
