I am not sure but I think I heard on gardeners world or maybe in a magazine that you can trim the roots of bareroot roses or maybe potted roses has anybody heard this as well

Root trimming or pruning can be done on many plants - but its a very skilled job, and even though I'm a fully qualified horticulturalist, as its not something I've been well trained in , I wouldn't even attempt it on new plants without specific instruction.
