Looks alright from the outside and dark mushy on the inside? If so it could be blossom end rot which is caused by a fungus.

There's a brief window to harvest ripe cherries - they turn from ripe to rotten very, very quickly, especially if the weather is humid. In the UK, cherries don't suffer from blossom end rot, that's a problem exclusive to solanums (tomatoes, peppers, aubergines).
