I grew this plant from a seed head I picked up in someone's garden. I labeled it but it is not the plant I thought it was. I can't now remember where it came from or what I thought it was. Has you any ideas? I have had suggestions of Celosia, Persicaria ad Astilbe but I am not convinced. I has grown between 2 ad 3 feet tall

It looks like a red-leaved Amaranthus. Don't know which one, though.

Definitely Amaranthus, possibly A. Kerala red, there are many varieties, all edible.

Both young leaves and seeds edible.
