Could I ask what type of hedge this is? And if I can cut it right back on one side, past the green growth with out affecting it long term?

It is about 2.5m high and 2m wide and is starting to block our entrance to the house. We are wanting to cut it back about .5m on one side? Any advise

Hi, welcome to GoY, it looks like Yew, or Taxus baccata, to give it it's proper name, a hedge should be trimmed in summer and early autumn, fortunately they can withstand renovation pruning, Derek.

Hi Derek, thank you for that, I'll take it that it is yew and will have a go at cutting it right back tomorrow .
