Well I'm confused - Dianthus barbatus 'Green Trick' is sterile, doesn't produce seeds, and plants are propagated vegetatively, so if you've had seeds for this before, that's mystifying... More info below

Hi bamboo
Thanks for info.
This plant was featured in a book.
I have been looking for the seed presuming that there was seed after talking to Thompson & Morgan who said that they do not have it any more.

Hmm, well likely you were speaking to someone who wasn't that well informed, who just checked a stock seed list on the computer, saw that it wasn't listed, and just said they don't have it any more, knowing nothing about the plant anyway.

Hello again.
I will call T & G again.

Sarah Raven Stocks this Plant so I may purchase one from her.

Apparently this plant is stunning in the respect of its colour, and absolutely ideal for a bouquet etc .

Yes, it was actually developed for use by florists, good and unusual as a cut flower. You'll need to propagate using plant material if you want to keep it after 2 years...

hi
are you familiar with this plant, have you seen it?
I will try our local garden centres.

No, I've never seen it - to be honest, it doesn't appeal to me at all for more than one reason. I don't like green flowers much and I try not to plant sterile or double flowers because they are useless to pollinating insects such as bees, though I might use the occasional sterile plant. Doesn't mean you shouldn't grow them though if you like them, nothing wrong with difference!

How do I say thanks?
