Hi Folks, earlier this year I bought some Sweet Pea seedlings a couple if inches high. I have never grown them before, so I didn't hold out much hope. Well, low and behold they have turned out magnificent. As I say I have never grown them before, my question is what do I do with these pods if anything? See picture.

Nothing now you've picked them as they are unripe. If you leave some to ripen on the plants until the pods are brown and dry you can save the seeds for next year. But you may find the flowers aren't the same as the ones you saved the seeds from.

Steragram, they got battered by the wind and rain, that's why I took them out. Ah well, never mind a lesson learned.

Bathgate, Treetop is asking about sweet peas not edible peas. Treetop put the pods in a paper bag and store somewhere dry, you may find that they do ripen but not necessarily.

It depends on the variety you've grown. Sugar snap peas - you can eat the pods too. Same for Mange tout - you can eat the pods. Otherwise, just pop out the peas and throw the pods onto the compost heap.
