why are two or three of my giant lilies shedding their leaves before they have flowered. They look like a garden cane with buds! P.S. They are all about to flower all between four and six feet tall,

Are they in pots or in the ground? Have they had enough water and have you fed them. Have you been looking out for pests like red lily beetle or caterpillars? Did the leaves turn yellow before they dropped off, which could be an indication of drought. Hope this helps.
