what causes the blooms on purple eggplant to wilt and fall off? it's planted in a 5gal bucket but I'm not sure where soil came from ! they look great for a few days before this happens

Dryness at the root can cause this, but more usually, lack of pollination - they're wind pollinated, not insect pollinated, but its easy to hand pollinate. Have a read of this below, you'll have to highlight and right click to open it
