my Plum tree is covered in a very small grub, the underside of the leaves look powdery and there is a sticky substance on the tops of the leaf which falls to plants underneath , can you advise please?

Thankyou, at the moment I have only seen very tiny green bugs crawling up the trunk guess they are the young, did do a winter bark wash last autumn and early spring but has made no difference do you think I should just persevere with this treatment ?

Any chance of a photograph of the problem insects? Sounds more like heavy aphid infestation...
