Please, let me pour a little more sweat from my brow in the heat of summer while in the garden before mentioning winter:) You might try eBay they have plenty there. Best Regards.

Are you having a laugh, Loosestrife, with your 'in the heat of summer' comment;-))? It might actually be summer weather with you, and its officially summer here in the UK, but today its extremely windy, wet and I've got the central heating on.... Other than the fact the daylight hours are much longer, and when the sun does come out its very warm, today, one could be forgiven for thinking its actually late October... I think we're the wrong side of the jet stream at the moment... just how hot is it where you are (she asks enviously..)?

Hmm, remains to be seen Snoopdog - I've just been looking at a scientific report on what El Nino's doing this year - the last time it did what its doing now, we had a very cold winter, so the prediction from them is, a cool summer for the UK, and a hard winter...

El Nino can mean a mildish but long winter also. It depends on many factors. We have had 2 good summers and a third would be statistically unlikely alas.

Had about five weeks of no rain and temps in the 80's to 90's. Yesterday we had our first steady rain and it continues today a good steady soaking rain with no torrential downpours. The temp started to drop last night and in the morning it was 75. Of course everything in the garden started to supersize in short order. We had such a frigid winter, I myself, would not consider to think of the coming one just yet. It was so dry that a dairy farm pond completely dried out, something which I had never seen in the years that I have been living here.

In the last 10 years or so I have had 3 eye tests. Each time I asked the Optometrist ' Do you watch much television?"

No.1 said " No. I wouldnt have one in the house."
No.2 said " No. I dont have it."
No.3 said " I dont have screens of any type in the house."

These people are scientists. They know the damage T/V
does to eyes. I ration my viewing now.
I am just looking for hobbies that dont damage my eyes, to pass the hours when the bad weather comes again.
I bought a jigsaw of 56 London Churches Snoop, I think they are all Wren Churches. Will be a challenge.
Fancy building a dockside crane, its finding the kit and plans thats hard. Most decent kits on Ebay are soon sold.

When you are referring to tv screens are you referring to CRT or LED?

5 Jun, 2015

Optometrist said 'any kind of screen.'
